Parents and caregivers are often invited to serve on boards, committees, advisory groups, and other leadership teams where their experiences help guide decisions and improve programs.
Many of these opportunities come with little or no training, making it difficult to know where to start or how to make your voice heard. FELT was created to give families the knowledge, confidence, and support to become effective advocates and leaders.
Whether you’re just getting started or looking to strengthen your advocacy skills, this program is for you.
What is FELT?
Family Engagement & Leadership Training (FELT) is a self-paced, compensated training program designed for parents, caregivers, and family members who want to make a difference for their children, their communities, and families across Alaska.

Topics include; advocacy and leadership skills, Family-centered care and resilience, child development and special education, and more!
Learn at your own pace — approximately 20 hours total.
Each lesson takes about 15 minutes and can be completed whenever it fits your schedule.
