Understanding the Indian Child Welfare Act

November 6, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

A Day of Training for Resource Families and Agency Staff

Alaska is home to 229 federally recognized tribes, so the Indian Child Welfare Act is an important part of our child protective services. Join us to get a good understanding of ICWA, how it is applied in Alaska and how it guides the work of the Office of Children’s Services. The Final Rule from the Bureau of Indian Affairs will also be explained and discussed. We invite resource families and staff from agencies who work with OCS to join us for a day of learning about this important area.
Included in the day will be panels of tribal representatives discussing their regions and services. There is no charge for this training but pre-registration is required.

To register for this training,
call ACRF at 279-1799
or email acrfsc@nwresource.org
