FASD FAMILY CAMP L.I.F.E. SESSION
(Living in FASD Education)
(Living in FASD Education)
For Families, Extended Families, and Friends
Presented by the Canadian
Whitecrow Village Community
(scholarship available for family members. All food and accommodations provided)
The L.I.F.E. sessions offer families and other participants a unique opportunity to learn, work, and play together as a community, and to gain what many describe as a life changing – even life saving – understanding of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. Participants have the opportunity to interact with each other and with team leaders; to engage in classroom and experiential activities which offer them an understanding of the support needed for individuals who are affected by an FASD and to experience an environment where contributions made by those with an FASD are recognized and appreciated.

“The L.I.F.E. sessions are much more than simply children’s camps. The typical camp activities are structured to support brain differences. The adults have intensive experiential training opportunities that build understanding and collaborative relationships among professionals, parents, paraprofessional, and extended family. …Parents get to experience their children being successful and appreciated by adults. All get to experience the competency of Whitecrow team leaders who live with FASD.”
– Kee Warner Founder of Whitecrow Village
“As a family affected by FASD we were in crisis mode when we learned about Whitecrow Village. Unlike other programs we’d heard of, Whitecrow Villagy Includes the whole family and is focused on the unique challenges FASD presents. Our goals for camp were: to gain increased knowledge and understanding of FASD, to help our chlidren know they were not alone in experiencing FASD and find a sense of community with others affected by FASD, as well as get some much needed family support . Whitecrow Village met all of our goals. Thanks to Whitecrow Village, we have gained a supportive community, and hope for the future.”
