REQUEST FOR INPUT: Making the Developmental Disability Shared Vision REAL
A Community Forum is scheduled for Thursday, April 12th at Stone Soup Group (307 E. Northern Lights BLVD) from 6pm-7:30pm.
In 2017, with funding and leadership from the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority, a Shared Vision for developmental disability services was developed based on input provided by over 200 people through an online survey and community meetings. This past year, over 60 people have been actively engaged on plans to operationalize this Vision:
“Alaskans share a vision of a flexible system in which each person directs their own support, based on their strengths and abilities, toward a meaningful life in their home, their job and their community. Our vision includes supported families, professional staff, and services available throughout the state now and into the future.”
The DD Systems Collaborative Steering Committee, with representatives from a cross-section of Alaskan stakeholders, will meet in May to develop next year’s strategic action plan. We are seeking input to inform that planning process.

Google will tell you who is in our community, but it can’t tell you whether other families would recommend them. We can help you find recommendations from other families, along with other details like what insurance plans are accepted.
