This was one of the first books written about FAS and chronicles a family that searches but does not find answers or solutions. The book was written by a father who adopted a child with FAS.

Cultural issues around drug and alcohol abuse are explored in this book. It also describes developmental stages of exposed children, how people learn and differences in learning in exposed children. This book also contains information about the kinds of substances kids may be exposed to including street drugs, explains assessments that may be used in evaluating exposed children, and lists national, state and local resources as well as further reading materials.
